SEND
Welcome to the Special Educational Needs page on our school website.
Greenacres Primary School is a fully inclusive mainstream school which offers support to all of its children. This section of our website will provide you with information to help you understand how we meet the needs of children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) and how we ensure that all children fulfil their potential.
If you require further information, please contact our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO), Mrs A. Knight, via email: knight.a1@greenacres.shropshire.sch.uk or alternatively arrange an appointment with the school office.
The Local Offer
In 2014, the Children and Families Act became law which required both local authorities and schools to publish information about all services available to children with special educational needs or disabilities. This is called the ‘Local Offer’. The purpose of the Local Offer is to enable parents to see more clearly what services are available in their area for children and how to access them.
Shropshire’s Local Offer can be found here: https://new.shropshire.gov.uk/the-send-local-offer/
Greenacres Primary School SEN Information Report 2022:
Under the Children and Families Act 2014, schools are required to publish information on their websites about the implementation of the setting’s policy for pupils with SEN, so that parents, children and young people are clear about what is available to them. This information is set out in The Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014, and is known as the schools SEN Information Report.
