Forest School

Forest School will be on Tuesday afternoons. Children should bring old, warm, waterproof clothing as we aim to get out whatever the weather. Please only send in clothes which you do not mind getting dirty. A carrier bag for muddy wellies is also useful.

PE

Willow class has a PE lesson every Thursday.  Please make sure that your child has a PE kit in school - black shorts, plain white top and trainers or pumps. When the weather is cold, they may bring plain black tracksuit trousers and a sweatshirt to wear over the top of their PE kit. It is fine for your child to bring in their PE kit on a Monday and take it home on a Friday so that you always know they have it if they need it.

Reading

Please can you hear your child read each school day.  Listening to your child read each day will greatly improve their reading.  Please sign the learning journal each time you hear your child read. Their learning journals are checked each day and every time your child reads at home, they get a tick towards their reading rainbow and the prize of choosing a book to keep!

Spellings

Spelling homework is set each week on a Monday. A spelling list will be put in your child’s reading journal for each week.  The spellings are linked to phonics and the Year 1/2 Common Exception words.
