Rutland, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, SY1 3QG
This term we have got lots of exciting mini-topics to focus on, starting with ‘Destination Outer Space’. This will include making rockets, learning about planets, imagining meeting an alien and reading the story ‘Aliens love Underpants’. We then move on to our ‘talk for writing’ unit ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’. The children will be encouraged to join in with the repeating phrases and retell the story using puppets, props and instruments. We will then move onto our Spots and Stripes topic. Later in the term we will be celebrating ‘Chinese New Year’.
When we return after the half term holiday, we will be focusing on People who help us. This will include looking at the role of doctors, vets, firemen and police amongst many others. We will also be looking at the text Mrs Honey’s hat to support our understanding of number. As part of our Easter celebrations we will be focusing on Spring and new Growth. Throughout the term, we will also be looking at various fiction, non-fiction and poetry, providing lots of opportunities for speaking and listening activities.
This term our Forest School session will be on a Wednesday afternoon.
Our staff are usually available to talk to you at the start and end of each session if you have any queries or questions.
